From Inspiration To Reality: A Tropical Wedding

I'm alway so excited to see the inspiration we create in the magazine come to life in our real weddings [1]. I recently designed a beautiful wedding in Jamaica at the classic and elegant Round Hill Hotel [2]. The bride did her research and saved pages from a floral story I designed with the team at Martha Stewart Weddings. As someone who grew up in Florida and is happiest on an island, under a palm tree, or in a tropical garden, I was so excited to see my client was equally inspired by the chic, vintage tropical world we created in the magazine. I made several tweaks to the color palette and included a few more exotic leaves and beautiful pieces of foliage from amazing local resources. One benefit to being in Jamaica instead of a photo studio in NYC is that I had access to some really gorgeous locally grown leaves, vines, and foliage. I'm still so in love with this wedding and I'm obsessed with the gorgeous green napkins we designed for the place settings. I will share more details from this fabulous tropical weekend in the coming weeks. Are you planning a destination wedding? Where are you finding your inspiration?
Here is the original inspiration [4] from the story I worked on with my friends at Martha Stewart Weddings.
The mini pineapples (grown locally) were so perfect sitting on the gorgeous green linen napkins.
The bamboo chairs added a touch of texture and warmth with the rattan charges on the tables. I loved our wall of Heliconia leaves on the bar creating a lush green backdrop.
A detail of the vintage inspired table linen, the chic wood seating card holders, and the various, lush and colorful leaves. The amazing pink pineapples brought in some of that lovely color found in the table runner.
