Honeymoon Diary: Hollen and Adam

Posted by

After Hollen and Adam tied the knot in Connecticut they ventured off to Greece to celebrate. On their two-week trip, they went to Athens, Rhodes, Crete, and Santorini. They left two days after their June wedding to give them some time to recoup (highly recommended by the bride). In Rhodes they stayed in (and loved) a boutique hotel called Melenos Lindos, which offered incredible food and service. They went sailing on two islands. According to Hollen, Blue Lagoon Catamaran in Santorini was spectacular. They opted for the day tour, which they felt gave them just the right amount of time. In Santorini the newlyweds stayed at Katikies which came highly recommended from several friends.

As for the couple's faves? Adam loved the fresh and local ingredients at Melenos Lindos, where almost everything came directly from their garden on site. Hollen was also a fan of the food, noting the daily fresh fish in particular. She also loved the views, the people and the weather, and spending a few days on each island so that they never felt rushed.

Their main tip for those of you planning a Grecian adventure: Get to the viewing point in Oia, Santorini, very early to see the sunset. It's a spectacle every night with tourists and photographers so it can be hard to get a good spot!

  • The Greek Islands are wonderfully romantic and a perfect honeymoon for any couple who loves gorgeous beaches, fabulous food mixed with fun things to do and explore! It is also a reasonably priced trip with lots of options for excursions. The fairy system of transportation between the islands is very efficient and inexpensive.
Santorini is truly one of the most romantic places on earth! I know of several people who have gone there on vacation and come back engaged and wanted to return for their honeymoon! The Greek Islands have it all, romance, sun, fun and fabulous food!
