The Language of Flowers

In Victorian times, flowers were used to send coded messages. I have never cared about the Victorian meaning of flowers—only the beauty of the blooms. But I am reading The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh right now and simply loving it. Reading this captivating novel has given me a new appreciation for this secret communication, and given my love of flowers a new depth. Florists and flower lovers must give it a read! Instead of a bland text message, how about sending someone a tussie-mussie to express a sentiment? A bouquet of ferns, for instance, sends a message of magic. Find the meanings of more flowers here. Maybe it will help you choose what to carry on your big day.
