Courtney Dougherty recently started up Bananappeal (check out the site, like the company name, it's rad), specializing in mail-order, individually sized banana cakes frosted with good stuff like chocolate fudge and salted caramel, and cheesecakes with flavors like banana-gingersnap and bananas foster. Each one packs a ton of banana-liciousness into a reuseable jar.
We taste-tested a bunch of her goodies and our faves were the cakes topped with cream-cheese frosting and toasted coconut, and all the cheesecakes—creamy bananas and cheesecake-filling just seem to work. If you think these sound like cool wedding favors ... Guess what? So do we! Especially because Bananappeal will create personalized lids for your event for a small fee. For bulk orders, 4-ounce cakes start at $48 for 12, and custom labels start at $1 each plus a $50 one-time set-up fee. You'd be bananas not to give them a try.
Crack lid, dip spoon, and enjoy.
The labels that come standard are so vibrant and cute (especially when paired with a lil' banana tag).
But the custom lids are pretty special, and they've even done some with neat additions like Scrabble letters and craft birds.
What are you giving away as favors to all your relatives and pals?
