They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I wholeheartedly agree and so does my Carolina Herrera-inspired hair.
I was smitten with the CH spring 2012 runway updo created by famed hairstylist Orlando Pita. It was sleek, sophisticated, and looked easy to recreate. I thought it'd also be flattering with a beautiful hair accessory tucked into one side, or a veil cascading over it.

My process: To make it softer, more tousled, and voluminous than the runway inspiration, I sprayed my unwashed strands with Oribe Apres Beach Wave and Shine Spray. Then, I swept my hair back into low looping ponytail—not pulling the ends all the way through—and secured it with a clear elastic. Next, I took the hanging tail and swooped it around the base of the ponytail, tacking it in place with bobbi pins. A spritz of hairspray was the finishing touch. See my final look below.
