Engagement shoots are great because they allow time for you and your groom to get to know your wedding photographer, for the photographer to learn your personalities and figure out your best angles, and it’s a great opportunity to get some relaxed, candid shots.
I love engagement photos set in meaningful locations. Andrew and I met in college, so Boston University's campus was the perfect backdrop. We spent the whole weekend with our photographers, and were able to try out a number of locations...and outfits!
Andrew doesn't love having his photo taken, but Mark and Joi of Mark-Brian Photography put us instantly at ease—even though they were following us around like the paparazzi. Mark hopped up steps, into trees, and over bridges in search of the perfect angle as we made our way through campus. We walked along the Charles River and the BU “Beach”, through Boston Common to the Boston Public Garden, and along Newbury Street. We even snuck into our old dorm!
We were able to see the photos less than a week later, and quickly realized that choosing our “favorites” would be nearly impossible! Check out a few here.
