No one knows your skin better than you do, right? Well, if you're a little confused or looking for some in-depth information, Dr. Leslie Baumann, a board-certified dermatologist in Miami, and her new website might be able to tell you a thing or two.
Her skin-typing method goes way beyond the five traditional oily, dry, normal, sensitive, and combo categories. She takes into account pigmentation (that's dark spots from aging and the sun), existing wrinkles, firmness, and more, to come up with 16 possibilities.
Phew! That's a lot to wade through. But if you take her online questionnaire -- it literally takes two minutes to complete -- you can easily find out which one you are (I rang up as DSNW, which roughly translates to dry, sensitive, non-pigmented, and wrinkled) and which products are best for you (and your budget).
Believe it or not, the website is completely FREE. The catch? Baumann wants to use your stats to aid a research project she's been working on since 2008. Her worthy goal: Finding the gene for oily skin. She only asks for your first name, gender, birth year, ethnicity, and country of residence (most of this information is required to build your profile). A small price to pay for her legendary expertise, I'd say.
What skin type do you think you have? Fill out the questionnaire, and let me know if you were right!
