Bridal Market: Marchesa

Posted by

Okay -- for any of who who follow us on Twitter, you know about the fun bridal-market party we threw Monday night (follow us on the blog this week to get all of the details).

Anyway, after throwing Monday night's extravaganza, I can't say I wasn't a little tired yesterday morning when my alarm clock went off, but the good news is that I started my day off with Marchesa!

This newest collection had "Cinderella-worthy drapes and silhouettes, [and] the collection revamps happilyever after to create a new chapter for every fairy take of ethereal dreams come true."  I just love, love, love how light and airy the gowns feel. There was a mix of gowns with voluminous skirts and those that were form fitting with hand-draped bodices. Everything was fairy tale-like, but in a modern and fashionable way. It is no surprise that Marchesa is the designer of choice for so many celebs, and that's also why so many brides are lucky that the company has created a collection for their "white-carpet day."

Floral detail is nothing new in weddings, but Marchesa does it in her own special way.

Here is a fun mini.

Sherri Caudell Brennan, our associate fashion editor, liked this one.

Very goddess-like, very pretty.

Another cute mini.

Nice one-shoulder floral detail.

I love the train when she walks.

I just love this dress.

A shot of Marchese co-founder and designer Georgina Chapman.
