Template of the Week: Conversation Starter Time Line

Posted by

One of the great things about weddings is bringing your family and friends from all different times in your life together for one celebration. Help them all take a walk down memory lane, and get to know each other a little better, with this bold time line. Guests mark the year that they first met you with their designated pin - sparking memories and conversation. Set it up to play during cocktail hour and your great aunt and first college roomie will be sure to mingle.

Download the PDF onto a CD or thumb drive and take it to a copy shop that can print on oversize paper (the full size of the time line board is 17 by 46 inches). The timeline is designed to encompass a wide range of years; some of them won't be useful for you. Work with the copy shop to cut off the sections that contain years that aren't applicable. Have the copy shop mount the cropped timeline on foam board.

Make the name flags out of scrapbooking or other decorative paper with a pattern on one side and a solid color on the other. Cut into 1/2 inch strips using a paper trimmer or a craft knife with a metal straightedge. Cut the strips into 3-inch lengths, and notch one end of each. Use a small hole punch to make two holes, one above the other, on the other end; thread a corsage pin through the two holes.
