A few weeks ago I worked on a colorful wedding in Puerto Rico, but the traditions and decor conjured traditional Indian culture. The bride and groom enlisted the help of wedding planner Shetal Vyas, who specializes in Indian weddings; Shetal brought me in to ensure the party also had a more contemporary aesthetic. Today I'm sharing some of the more traditional details as these served as the inspiration for my design. After all, with colors like that it's hard not to be inspired!
Are you planning a destination wedding or a wedding infused with specific cultural elements or traditions? I would love to know if you have any comments or questions!

The bride displayed her hands after the henna party.
The bride donned her gown just before the ceremony.
I love the importance of the bride and groom's hands throughout the ceremony.

I hope to share some of my design details from this event soon! In the meantime, please enjoy these moments of inspiration from the wedding.

I don't know much about Indian weddings, but from the photos I've seen the colors are amazing! These are no exception. I love that blue dress.

The maroon dress (which is, in fact, a dress and NOT a costume) is also gorgeous!
