Embroidery

One of the sweetest keepsakes you can give a special member of your wedding party is an embroidered hanky, and embroidery is an easy way to give something handcrafted. I've always loved this image from the Living story on embroidery:

The good news is there is a great workshop introduction to the craft at this link. It breaks down the process into manageable steps. I don't know if you're like me, but I can find hand sewing to be a great way to unwind or de-stress, something you may need to do occasionally when planning your wedding.  I also wanted to share with you my all-time favorite embroidery inspiration book, called A Handbook of Lettering for Stitchers. It's out of print, but you can find it through Alibris or Abebooks occasionally.  The cover alone is inspirational:

If you're into embroidery or typography (great monogram source!), you may want to pick up a copy.
