Bridal Beauty Diaries: Esther – Hair and Makeup

Posted By admin On December 13, 2013 @ 4:01 pm In Inspiration | 1 Comment

Initially, I was unsure about whether I would be doing my own wedding day makeup or hiring a professional, so I visited a Bobbi Brown makeup counter to see if I could find the right look and do it on my own. While I did make several purchases—including the long-wear cream shadow stick [1] in Golden Pink, blush [2] in Nectar, and eye shadow [3] in Champagne Quartz—I’ve booked a makeup artist. I do not want to have to stress that day about doing my makeup, especially getting that eyeliner on straight! Since I do not have an extensive makeup collection, I’m very happy with my Bobbi Brown purchases. I am looking forward to using them to do my own makeup for the rehearsal dinner and other special occasions leading up to the big day.

The day of, I definitely want to play up my eyes while still looking natural—which probably means more bronze/brownish eye shadows to go with my skin tone. I have always been curious about doing a smokey eye, but since I’ve never worn that look, I’m afraid I won’t look like me. I’m also considering a bright pink lip since I’ll be even more confident about my smile, thanks to my Invisalign treatment! It's great that I feel I can accentuate my smile more now without being so self-conscious. I have a few pins on my wedding makeup board on Pinterest. [4]

I’ve also booked a stylist for my hair. I’m going for a natural and soft look—loose waves and probably a half-up, half-down hairdo. I’ve been keeping my hair pretty short (above the shoulder) for the past couple years, so I’m growing it out as much as possible until the wedding. Here [5] are a few wedding hair looks I’ve pinned. I’m thinking about wearing a jeweled hair comb on the side but am still looking for a good picture of what I want!

Disclosure: I have received complimentary treatment from Invisalign in exchange for blogging about my bridal journey and treatment, and all opinions expressed are my own.
