Bridal Beauty Diaries: Brittany – Checking Off My “To-do” List

I have literally been planning weddings since I was seven. The first was a beautiful, intimate affair held outside for my beloved dog and my cousin’s dog. My cousin and I were so happy with the way the wedding turned out we could hardly sleep that night. We were convinced we would be blessed with puppies the next morning. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you ask our parents) that did not happen. The second wedding I planned was a bit more elaborate. It was a held at a private estate known as Barbie’s Dream House in which Barbie married GI Joe and they lived happily ever after.
So after personally planning two weddings and attending about a 100 more throughout my twenties, you would think I would have no problems at all—that I’ve got this in the bag—but it is quite the contrary. Weddings are stressful, really stressful; they can consume all of your time, energy, and money.
So what is a girl to do? Well, I will start by saying that I have found the perfect guy for me, and I am beyond lucky to have a mom and sisters who keep me grounded. They help out where they can and remind me that everything will turn out just fine. Giving myself an occasional weekend break, where I don’t do anything wedding related, helps to keep my stress levels low. So does working out. “Soul Cycle—I love you and wish I could go every day, because every time I walk out of your class I feel like a million bucks and forget whatever I was ever stressed or worried about.”
Also, it is a huge relief knowing that I will no longer have to worry or "stress" about my smile. I'm almost done with my Invisalign treatment and am so happy I have gone through the Invisalign process. It's been a low-stress way to improve my smile and confidence, and I feel relieved that I won't need to worry at all about the way my smile will look in my wedding photos.
Disclosure: I have received complimentary treatment from Invisalign in exchange for blogging about my bridal journey and treatment, and all opinions expressed are my own.
