At last night's 65th Primetime Emmy Awards in Downtown Los Angeles, the stars opted for a rainbow of bright colors (Tina Fey in blue; Lena Dunham in green; Laura Dern in soft coral; Sofia Vergara in red).
Our top honors in this vivid bunch goes to Michelle Dockery (above), a nominee in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for her work on Downton Abbey. She wowed us in a two-toned Prada number that paired a crimson halter top with a full burgundy skirt. We applauded her for choosing something that fit like a glove and flattered her skin tone, and for completing it with just-right accessories.
Our other favorites erred on the subtle side of the spectrum. Rose Byrne dazzled in a sleek pale pink Calvin Klein midriff-exposing column; Kerry Washington, nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for Scandal, shone in a blush Marchesa floral embroidered tulle gown with gold threadwork; and January Jones rocked a romantic vibe in her strapless dusty rose-toned lace Givenchy gown.
And then there was Claire Danes—who, for the second year in a row, took home the statue for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her turn on Homeland. She glowed in a plunging, ivory-hued Armani Privé A-line with crystal-accented spaghetti straps, a paillettes-adorned bodice, and an illusion neckline.
(The Givenchy, Marchesa, and Armani Privé would suit an aisle as easily as they did the red carpet.)
