I am amazed at how quickly time is flying by! Sadly, summer is over but that means it has already been over two months now since I started my Invisalign treatment. I’m currently on my fifth set of aligners and can see and feel a difference in my teeth since I first started. My lower teeth have straightened out a little and my top teeth definitely feel like they have moved in. A friend I hadn’t seen for more than a month exclaimed how great my teeth looked without me even asking, so that was encouraging to hear.
In my last post about my Invisalign treatment, I mentioned that I had some trouble getting my aligners in and out, but that I anticipated it would become second nature in another week or two. As expected, I am now able to take them in and out very comfortably without even having to look in a mirror.
I have also learned to brush my teeth after every meal to ensure no food particles get stuck in the aligners. I made the mistake with my first set of just rinsing out my mouth after eating a green salad, and I turned my aligners slightly green! I have also learned to consciously relax my jaw a bit more. For whatever reason, I tend to clench my jaw more than usual with the aligners in, but just reminding myself not to clench down is helpful.
Overall, I’m really happy with how my treatment is going so far given the results I can already see. Being able to take the aligners in and out provides so much flexibility with eating and brushing. After another couple sets of aligners, I’ll be about halfway through my treatment, so I’m really looking forward to sharing my progress in another update!
