Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far!
Things have definitely started to progress for me in terms of straightening my teeth and planning my wedding. I am already on my fifth set of Invisalign aligners and I see a slight improvement in the crowding I had on my bottom teeth. This makes me feel great! Also, this past weekend I went DRESS SHOPPING!
To my surprise I was able to secure an appointment pretty quickly at Kleinfeld Bridal in Manhattan. With a little less than ten months to go, this is an ideal time for me to start my long-anticipated wedding dress hunt! I decided to go with just my mother. I feel as if my mom will give me the most honest advice and it was an excuse to have a wonderful mother/daughter day—just the two of us!
My appointment was at 12:30 p.m. and after a few photos of me in front of the famous building (couldn’t help myself), I was escorted to a small dressing room where I was asked to describe my “dream dress.” Ladies, do your homework before you go dress shopping. Pinterest is an amazing source to use. I recommend making a board dedicated to your “dream dress” and bringing that along to your appointments. This Pinterest board I made, along with some magazine cutouts, definitely served as a great starting point for me.
While I always had envisioned a beautiful mermaid style dress, I tried to keep an open mind and tried on several different styles. I really want to look like a mix of Disney princess and Jennifer Aniston on my wedding day so, yeah, I tried on a bunch. I do have to say wedding dress shopping is probably my favorite part of wedding planning so far. No, I didn’t find the perfect dress quite yet. But stay tuned and wish me luck, I have two dress appointments this week!!!
