On Tuesday night, I hosted a party for Martha Stewart Weddings contributing editor David Stark celebrating the release of his new book "The Art of the Party." (Stay tuned for photos from the festivities!) For David, I knew the favors had to be cool and fun, so here's what I did: I started by sketching David as he appears in the book, then I used my illustrations as art for favor boxes. I filled each box with sweets in a clear bag sealed with a custom sticker featuring a picture of the guest of honor.
I wanted to pass on this list of helpful sources hoping that they'll inspire you to do something fun for your wedding favors!
For custom designs: Cheree Berry, graphic designer and stationer, does amazing custom work.
For favor boxes: Smitten On Paper boasts boxes in a large range of colors and sizes, and you can even customize them your own artwork. I printed my artwork on two boxes for David's favors so they became a mix and match block game when we displayed them.
For candy: Sockerbit is great source for delicious, all-natural, and specialty candy imported from Sweden and Denmark.
For sweet and salty treats: Nuts.com is one of my go-to sources for a huge range of candies and nuts.
For labels and stickers: Avery always has easy and affordable ways to personalize any favor. I love these cute photos of David I put on the labels I used.
For candy bags: Clear Bags.com has affordable bags great for filling favors.
For trimmings: Maine Thread Co. has wax twine that's great because it holds tight when tying onto favor boxes.
