Would You Wear Glasses on Your Wedding Day?

Posted by

I always think that the brides who look most beautiful on their wedding days are the ones that look most like themselves. But what if your normal self has four eyes instead of two? If you're one of those girls who wears glasses everyday—so much so that they are really a part of your look—should you go without them on your wedding day?

While I was home a few months ago I looked through my grandparents wedding album and discovered that my beautiful grandmother wore glasses on her wedding day. When I asked her why, she told me that contacts didn't really exist and she had to wear her glasses so she could walk down the aisle without tripping and see my grandfather clearly while reciting her vows.

While in today's world contacts are easy to wear and no longer prohibitively expensive, I've seen a few brides lately who've decided that their glasses are so much a part of their look that they've worn them down the aisle. My friend Julian (see her in the gallery) even bought a special pair just for her wedding day! What do you think? Would you rock specs down the aisle? Take a peak at these stylish ladies and a few great options for wedding day frames.

  • Yes. My glasses are red, my signature color and the color theme of the wedding.

  • Yes, I did wear my glasses for my wedding this past year. Contacts aren't really for me, and I can't see without them! I just wore my regular glasses, which are a drilled rimless frame that is pale pink.
