Last year, when we shot our summer fashion story in New Orleans, I stayed a few extra days to explore the city. I decided to book a tour with renowned Voodoo Queen Mary Millan (aka Bloody Mary). It. Was. Incredible. Not only does she know everything there is to know about NOLA and its unique culture, but I learned that one of her side gigs is officiating—wait for it—Voodoo weddings.
When I got back to New York, I couldn't stop thinking about her. Then we had our annual Bridal Market Party, where I met Alex Pelling and Lisa Gant, the couple who are exchanging vows across the globe. When they mentioned that they were headed down to New Orleans a few weeks later, a lightbulb went off. Long story short, I hooked them up with Bloody Mary, and they said their I dos in a Voodoo-licious service full of color, energy, and, well, snakes.
The wedding took place at Bloody Mary's Voodoo Parlor on November 7th 2012, and you can watch it all unfold February 8th, 2013 on ABC's 20/20 at 10:00 p.m. (EST).
