I don't usually consider grapes when it comes to making cocktails, but when I spotted this Smashed Grape Cocktail recipe over at Verses from My Kitchen, I couldn't resist. This drink is a balanced mix of tangy green grapes, fresh basil, and a touch of honey. Its unique flavor  and crisp green color makes it an irresistible signature drink option for your wedding or rehearsal dinner. Check out more amazing recipes (and gorgeous photographs!) at Verses from My Kitchen, and click here to see more signature drinks. Cheers!

The Smashed Grape Cocktail (Serves 2)

12 grapes
6 basil leaves
1 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. simple syrup
4 oz. vodka
2 cups soda water

Directions: Place 10 grapes in the bottom of a shaker and smash up with a cocktail muddle. Pour contents through a sieve and reserve juice. Rinse shaker and place basil in the bottom. Lightly muddle to release oils. Top with simple syrup, grape juice and lemon juice and stir. Add ice and pour vodka over top. Add honey and soda water and shake. Cut two grapes in half and place 2 halves in each glass. Pour shaker contents in glasses and serve.

  • Yum.. that sounds amazing. Fresh green is one of my favourite colours for a summertime wedding, too.

  • I am definitely going to make this!

  • Sounds delicious & looks amazingly refreshing for a cocktail! Definitely going to try to ask my bartender for this the next time!
