Holiday Gift Guide: Lis's Personal Picks
Posted by Elisabeth Engelhart
When shopping for the holidays, I always try to find items that have a special meaning for the recipient. It may take a little more time and creativity, but your loved ones will really see that you care! Forego the generic gift card and instead try to pick something more personal based on a shared experience. Maybe you and your best friend went to a fantastic design exhibition together so you gifted her a framed poster or catalogue of prints. Or your brother just scored a new bike and you accent it with a great picnic blanket. Here are some things I am hoping are in my stocking this year!
1 I've been craving some leopard calf hair shoes (which I am convinced look good with everything). Plus, they are wedges which are super comfy. Win-win. (Madewell Mini Wedge, on sale for $124.50, madewell.com)
2 This beautiful lambswool picnic rug is made in Tipperary, Ireland. How sweet would it look strapped to a bicycle! (approximately $185, begbicycles.com)
3 This book of prints from the Cooper Hewitt collection of Sonia Delaunay's textile designs is such a great source of inspiration for designers. ($24, Amazon.com)
4 This beaded collar instantly takes your super casual outfit into a va-va-voom ensemble. (Sparked Agate Collar, $58, anthropologie.com)
5 Guess who wants to spend her entire Christmas vacation with Mary and Matthew? This girl. (Downton Abbey Season 3, $50, shoppbs.org)
