Beauty Master Class: Cat-Eye Liner How-To Video

Posted by

Year after year, flirty winged liner comes back in a big way. It's a classic, and to master it, we asked makeup artist Marissa Nemes to give us a tutorial. Watch the video to perfect the look and follow along with our step-by-step:

1. Prep your lids by dabbing on primer from your lash line to your brow bones. It'll help your liner stay in place through heat, humidity, and happy tears.

2. With a fluffy shadow brush, tap nude eye shadow over your lid, brow bones, and into your inner eye corners. A warm neutral colors conceals redness and imperfections, and helps brighten up the area.

3. Get ready to line by positioning a waterproof liquid liner marker parallel to your eye lid. Starting at the inner eye corner, trace your lash line and follow the natural curve of your eye. At the outer corner of your eye, flip around the marker (tip pointing towards the outer corner of the eye) and draw a short angled "tail" to connect it to the main line. Go over the tail a few times to thicken it up just a bit.

4. Curl your lashes, and apply a coat of black mascara.
