Real Weddings Follow-Up: Amy and Gabe

Did you see Amy and Gabe's wedding in our destination issue? Today, the bride tells us how she chose her color palette. Read on for that, and a happy 1st anniversary to Amy and Gabe!

Most brides know the colors they want for their wedding by the time they get engaged. I only wish it had been that easy! I love color, so narrowing it down to just two was really difficult. After going back and forth on all types of color combinations, I zeroed in on the location to point me in the right direction. We got married in Palm Springs at The Parker Hotel. Palm Springs represents the chic sophistication of old Hollywood, while being the perfect weekend getaway packed with warmth, sunshine, and vibrant color—just look at the bright orange doors that greet you and the delicious citrus trees lining the property. So I settled on charcoal paired with a bright coral-orange. The charcoal was sophisticated and the orange more playful, and I think both completely worked with the setting. I love the way it all came together in the end!
