If you've never mixed pears with tequila, you're missing out. I recently discovered this Pear Nectar cocktail on vegetarian food blog Cookie + Kate, and I think it would be a fantastic drink for a fall wedding. A blend of pear nectar and vanilla give it just the right amount of sweetness while tequila and cinnamon add a bit of warmth. Give it a test run at your upcoming Thanksgiving festivities and be sure to check out Cookie + Kate for more amazing vegetarian food recipes. For more drink options click here.
The Pear Nectar Cocktail (Serves 1)
1 1/2 oz. reposado tequila
3-4 oz. pear nectar (Kate suggests R.W. Knudsen)
1 dash of cinnamon
1 drop vanilla extract
Light drizzle of honey
Half of a lemon, juiced
1 cinnamon stick (for garnish)
Directions: Fill a double old-fashioned or high ball with ice. Pour in the tequila and the pear nectar. Add the cinnamon, vanilla, and honey to the glass. Squeeze in half a lemon's worth of juice. Pour into a cocktail shaker and give it a shake. Pour back into glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

I'll be trying this one over the Thanksgiving weekend as a good tequila drink is one of my favorite things!
