We've worked with the amazingly talented David Stark for years, and we are beyond excited to officially announce his role as a contributing editor. He'll continue to create amazing stories for our magazine and share his inspirations with us, here, on the blog. Take it away, David!
So excited – I just got a fab book today by Jessica Kerwin Jenkins: Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anecdotal History of Elegant Delights. I have been hearing such wonderful things about this book. Not only do I love the cover, but it is filled with all kinds of engaging anecdotes, illuminating the origins of such quirky subjects as confetti (where the heck did confetti originate?!) and fanfare—it even extols the virtues of silence. Yup. SILENCE.
The book would make a great present for the girls in a bridal party, a lovely hostess gift, or for that matter, you could simply enjoy it yourself.

I stumbled across this unusual encyclopedia a year or so ago whilst looking for a gift for a client to give to his bride-to-be on the morning of their wedding - to flit through whilst she had her hair and makeup done!!
The bride thought it was 'simply charming'.
