Do You Have An Heirloom Engagement Ring?

Posted by

Today, I'm sporting my grandmother's engagement ring on my ring hand. It was from her second marriage, hence its modern design. (P.S. They met through an advertisement in the newspaper. Can we say predecessor to online dating?!) I think its diamond bookends show off the citrine's unique color so nicely.

Though I wear it for sentimental reasons, tons of people use their grandmother or great grandmother's engagement ring as their own (our editor in chief, included!). Or, in a twist, the groom will propose with the ring of his grammy. What a great way to celebrate your loved one!

Is your ring an heirloom piece? If so, we'd love to see it!

  • My engagement ring is my grandmother's :) It was given to her by my grandfather and six months ago, it was given to me by my fiance. It's so special to me to have a ring that's attached to the history of the people that I love and aspire to be like.

  • I got married this past Saturday, and my wedding ring set were my mom and dads original wedding set. It makes the rings very specual to me. I have alwsys liked a more "Antique" style of wedding rings and thesr are perfect...

  • I was also one of the fortunate people who received a family heirloom for my engagement ring. It is a beautiful ring and I don't mind at all that it is a used engagement rings. In fact on the contrary I feel blessed that I can wear something that meant so much to somebody that I cherish so dearly.
