The Scents of Summer
Posted by Sarah Smith
Need a new fragrance for the steamy, blissful months ahead? These bottles, hitting shelves now, are sure to weather them brilliantly and leave you smelling fresh as a daisy (or rose or lily) when you step foot on that aisle.
1 This edgy floral contains jasmine, rose, and orange-blossom, but patchouli and heady chypre give it unusual depth and staying power. It's a favorite on the MSW floor! (Juliette Has A Gun Romantina, $110, juliettehasagun.com)
2 Dior's Escale a Parati, inspired by Brazil's glamorous coast, smells like relaxation. With fresh citrus top notes, mint, rosewood, and tonka bean, its an fresh, yet woody ode to the sweet life. ($72, dior.com)
3 Cartier's perfume under this same name focused on the blossoming lily, but this lighter, eau de toilette version pays homage to the fresh, crisp bud. (Cartier Baiser Vole, $85, at Cartier Boutiques)
4 Housed in a beautifully bee-etched bottle, Guerlain's Mon Precieux Nectar brings jasmine and orange blossom florals into a deeper darker world with incense, musk, and guaiacum wood. ($270, bergdorfgoodman.com)
5 Stella McCartney's newest (and limited edition) Summer Rose captures the scent of a just-opened rose early in the morning with notes of the namesake flower, peony, green apple, and frosted lemon. ($62, stellamccartney.com)
