At first, I thought I should stick to the bridal tradition and surprise Steve with my wedding dress. Then, as our circumstances unfolded and my dress didn't work out, I realized it was much more memorable and fun to both be involved in the dressmaking process. While working on concepts together, we were both able to express our personal tastes through the design and shared a very unique experience that most couples don't get to have. I learned that while traditions are great to uphold, it is okay to forgo them if you have the opportunity to celebrate talent and share a special experience together.
