If you haven't yet noticed, the Palm Springs area is blowing up y'all. I'm sure it's due in part to that one Mad Men episode where Don is lured there from Los Angeles and falls in with a frisky bunch of nomadic sophisticates, but whatever the case, hotels are popping up constantly and colorfully, and folks are tying the knot all over the place (Exhibit A. Exhibit B. And Exhibit C.). I'm sure some people are honeymooning there (and if you are, write us at realhoneymoons@marthastewart.com!), but I'm convinced it's an ace spot for a girlfriend getaway with all your bridesmaids. And if you agree, then I've got just the locale for you:
Hotel Lautner is this jazzy pad in Desert Hot Springs (15 minutes from downtown Palm Springs) originally built in 1947 by modernist architect John Lautner. It's all concrete, steel, redwood, and glass with amazing vintage decor that manages to chicly walk the line between The Jetsons and The Brady Bunch. There are only four suites and a common outdoor lounge space that encompasses a fire pit, BBQ, and saltwater dipping pool perfect for cooling off in during those hot desert days. In other words, it's ready and waiting for you and your girls to completely take over.

I LOVE THIS! The simplicity, intimacy, yet elegant experience at Hotel Lautner is PERFECT for all-things-Bridesmaids. What a quiet and classy getaway to de-stress from the Wedding Plans. Plus, the awesome experience of the Palm Springs Wind Mills. GREAT choice. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
