Prima Ballerina: Soft Pink & Gray Color Inspiration

Posted by

Tonight is the Spring Gala at the New York City Ballet so I thought it was fitting to create a color palette inspired by the world renowned ballet company. Soft shades of pink mixed with cool grays and silvers create a wedding look that is both elegant and modern. Draw inspiration from the sketches of Edgar Degas and look for frothy tulle dresses, cinched at the waist and embellished with delicate beading or lace. A dancer's high bun is a beautiful and versatile hair choice for the both the ceremony and reception. Finish the look with a bouquet of lush pink peonies and soft gray foliage. • Hi there,

The dress on the bottom left hand side is by Jim Hjelm, however I cant find the individual picture for it anywhere on the website, so that I can see the front of it. Can you point me in the right direction??

    Thanks

Hi Kat, the dress is number 8009. So just Google "Jim Hjelm 8009" and you'll find photos of it. It's several seasons old though, so I'm not sure if they're still making it.

  • Next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesn't disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, Yes, it was my choice to read, however I actually believed you would have something interesting to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could possibly fix if you weren't too busy looking for attention.
