I just got back from a few days in California, and I was lucky enough to stop by Upstairs at Pierre Lafond, in Montecito.
The store is filled with treasures and everyday necessities. A lot of natural materials take center stage (linen, glass, ceramics, etc.) and there's a nice variety. I highly recommend stopping in if you're ever nearby. If you're not in California, don't worry, they have a nice website with a lot of their offerings, and a registry option so you and your honey can set up your wish list. Upstairs at Pierre Lafond is a very fabulous shop, right down the road from our office! It is a great option for gifts, clothing and they have some great books too, though the best place for books in all of Santa Barbara is a short walk from Pierre Lafond and is called Tecolote. It is a wonderful old fashioned book store and you could lose yourself there for hours browsing through the gardening books, cookbooks, home decor books and poetry books.
