I hope you are going to join us this coming week as we attend bridal market and report on the newest collections of gowns and accessories. We have a packed schedule which you can follow on our blog and @MarthaWeddings. Recently, I caught up with designer Hayley Paige and got a special look at what she is going to present this season. I wanted to share it with you now because we're already packed with appointments through the weekend—we have a lot in store for you!
Hayley is revealing three “alter egos” that inspired her new collection. And they are…
1. Paper Doll Ballerina
Characteristics: She loves changing up her look and having a sense of versatility.
The Designs: Gowns that provide a bride with an opportunity for more than one look, with elements (like detachable ball skirts) that can be as interchangeable, unique, and easy as paper dolls.
2. The '60s Modish Darling
Characteristics: She channels the retro look. She is feminine, and her tagline would be an ode to Audrey Hepburn: “Happy girls are the prettiest.”
The Designs: Laser-cut organza, lace, and vintage eyelet in structural silhouettes previously made iconic by Jackie O. The overall look is graceful and statement-making.
3. Jem Monroe
Characteristics: The amalgam of Jem (the '80s cartoon rock star) and Marylin Monroe, she is fun and fearless, and embodies an effortless sense of sparkle. Her attitude is keep calm and shine on.
The Designs: These dresses manifest luster through sheer fabrics, beads that create sheen, and crystal trimmings that are both illuminating and seductive.
