Wedding Color Inspiration: Peacock

Posted by

You've all been asking for it—a wedding inspired by the colors of a peacock. It's a hard palette to pull off, but can turn out beautifully if done in rich jewel tones. I love the bold yet simple place setting in teal (top middle) and how the colorful floral arrangement (bottom middle) sweeps the table. And let's not forget the Monique Lhuillier dress that's sure to catch everyone's eye (center)!

From top left: dress, 100 Layer Cake; table setting, Once Wed; printed peacock, Bella Figura; wedding gown, Monique Lhuillier; wedding cake, Cake Art; necklace, Style Guru; settee, La Dolce Vita; flowers, Style Me Pretty; peacock photo, Beth Bernier.

  • I love this! I'm doing peacock colors for my wedding. But it looks like that peacock print you've attributed to Divine by Design's Etsy shop is actually slightly different from what's offered there. Is there another Etsy shop that offers the print above? I love it and would love to track it down!

Oops our bad, you're totally right -- we had the wrong credit in there by mistake. I changed the post, but I'll say it again here: the stationery is actually from Bella Figura.

  • I love the inspiration of a peacock for a wedding! The peacock symbolizes beauty, strength, immortality, or never-ending love. We did a long blog about the symbolism of the peacock in Asian culture. Then showed pictures of our intricately painted peacock cake, along with photos of Indian peacock artwork. This can be seen at Heather Barranco Dreamcakes.

  • Thanks so much, Kelly! Not that I didn't love the Divine by Design invite, but can't wait to look at the Bella Figura option, too :-)

  • HI. I luv the peacock colors and want to use it for my wedding but I am having trouble finding a place to rent linens from. Do you have any suggestions? DO you have any other websites I can go to for more inspiration? thanks so much.
