Guten Morgen from beautiful Switzerland! I am here to cover the Baselworld watch and jewelry shows and before we head off for our first day of appointments, I thought I'd share a few images from the charming town we are calling home for the next week. Schaffhausen lies in Northeast Switzerland just a few miles from the German border. In fact, it is so close to Germany that it is the only Swiss city to have been bombed (by Allies, no less) as it was mistaken for Germany during a WWII attack.
We are staying at the Hotel Kronenhoff and spent the afternoon yesterday exploring our surroundings in Shaffhausen's medieval Old Town. Here's what I saw.
1 In Schaffhausen, it seems that every three storefronts there is either a sweets shop (like this), a cheese shop, or a chocolate shop.
7 The gorgeous, pastel colored homes along the river Rheine could have fit in with the color palette for our spring issue.

Did you try the osterfladen? the little treats with the icing sugar bunnies? My favourite Swiss treat!
