By now you've had a chance to check out Katy and Jeff's romantic South Carolina wedding. There were so many amazing touches and it seems that the talented creatives that collaborated on these nuptials left no detail out. I've rounded up a bunch of photos I snapped during our coverage of the wedding. The only thing I don't have a record of? Us constantly quoting Portlandia by saying "put a bird on it," which we couldn't seem to shake from our heads the entire time we were down there.
Each save the date used a different page from the Audubon book. Here you can see the range. The girls at Sideshow Press covered every great detail in the stationery and packaging design.
The booklet in the welcome box also featured imagery from the Audubon book and a metallic envelope.
A close up of the wine in the welcome box. The label read: "Friendship, like wine, improves with time. Join Katy & Jeff on their one year anniversary with a toast to life & love."
Another close up showing the various blooms, including a ranunculus that reminded me of a sunset.
The couple cut the cake using a silver knife from Croghan's Jewel Box, in Charleston. It was engraved with the insignia used throughout their stationery suite.
Major wind storms and hurricanes threatened the plans of Katy and Jeff's outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. So the couple and their planner, Kristin Newman of Kristin Newman Designs, decided to extend the tent as a rain plan.
Wreaths decorated the gates to the venue. Each one sported an initial for the bride and groom and a big, floppy bow. Made entirely of greenery, the only colored accent was pink jasmine.
Here you can see all the boutonnieres, which were created by Heather at Gathering Events. Loved the feather accents!
And here you can see the Gathering Events "workspace" which was set up on tarps in the dancing tent.
At the end of the night, as guests boarded the buses back to town, they were given breakfast sandwiches packed in muslin bags. Each was rubber stamped with the type of sandwich inside.
This is the top of the tent's center. It was created from a chiffon-like fabric in a few different hues. It mimicked the bride's gown and added a softness to the reception.
A special friend made an appearance while we were photographing the reception tables before the ceremony.
