Real Weddings Follow-Up: Katy and Jeff

By now you've had a chance to check out Katy and Jeff's romantic South Carolina wedding. There were so many amazing touches and it seems that the talented creatives that collaborated on these nuptials left no detail out. I've rounded up a bunch of photos I snapped during our coverage of the wedding. The only thing I don't have a record of? Us constantly quoting Portlandia by saying "put a bird on it," which we couldn't seem to shake from our heads the entire time we were down there.

The couple cut the cake using a silver knife from Croghan's Jewel Box, in Charleston. It was engraved with the insignia used throughout their stationery suite.

Major wind storms and hurricanes threatened the plans of Katy and Jeff's outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. So the couple and their planner, Kristin Newman of Kristin Newman Designs, decided to extend the tent as a rain plan.

A collection of brass birds was amassed to decorate the tables and bars.

Wreaths decorated the gates to the venue. Each one sported an initial for the bride and groom and a big, floppy bow. Made entirely of greenery, the only colored accent was pink jasmine.

At the end of the night, as guests boarded the buses back to town, they were given breakfast sandwiches packed in muslin bags. Each was rubber stamped with the type of sandwich inside.

Even the restrooms were dressed up. Here, one of the prettiest mens' room signs I've ever seen.

Carol Hannah made Katy's dress. The soft bouquet really set off the crisp white hue of the gown.

This is the top of the tent's center. It was created from a chiffon-like fabric in a few different hues. It mimicked the bride's gown and added a softness to the reception.

A special friend made an appearance while we were photographing the reception tables before the ceremony.

Amazing golf carts were used to transport guests. We borrowed one to pack up the car at the end of the night. They were the most luxurious golf carts we'd ever come across and we really didn't want to give up driving them!
