The late, great actress and humanitarian Elizabeth Taylor was almost as well known for her lavish jewelry as for her movie roles. Now you can get close to her collection of baubles, props, and costumes from her estate, on view at Rockefeller Center now through December 12th (tickets are $30; click here for more info).
If you want to do more than fog up those glass cases—and you happen to be incredibly loaded—you can participate in Christie’s New York's auction. On December 13, Christie's will present 80 of Taylor’s most iconic jewels in a special evening sale, followed by 189 additional jewels in 2-day sale sessions on December 14.
Okay. Is this a realistic gift list? Not at all. But Taylor's jewelry box is so extraordinary that I had to share.
