Before today, I would have said NAY. Emphasis on the upper-case letters. But after seeing this variation on etsy, I'm torn. The sentiment is so sweet (who doesn't like a tree carving motif), and I like that the magnets are oversize. What do you guys think? Would you send a magnet?

Sorry, but I'm a definite NAY. Save the Date magnets really annoy me. Firstly, I don't have a magnetic fridge. Secondly, even if I did, I wouldn't clutter it up with stuff like this. Thirdly, I have a diary. I can write down a date and not forget it without it staring at me every time I go to get milk.
But my real objection to all wedding stuff like this, is that they end up landfill. I just think they're such a waste of money and resources.

I think save the date magnets are a great idea! It's the most convienant place for me to keep track of the date and I like decorating my fridge with pictures of friends and family. If you don't want to use it as a magnet you don't have to and if you do like putting things on the fridge you don't have to go search for something strong enough to hold the paper up.

Yes, I found that save the date magnets were a hit for my wedding after getting feedback from the people who I sent them to. I didn't use Etsy but did mine on http://www.printerstudio.com/unique-ideas/fridge-photo-magnets.html which did a grand job and was cheap to make.
