Last week, I was invited to the Reem Acra showroom for a sneak peek of the newest collection. Wow. What an experience! Seeing what went into creating the gowns was truly amazing. I asked Reem, the designer, where she found her inspiration, but for that answer and answers to more MSW questions, you'll have to check back soon!!! Now onto what you've all been waiting for -- snapshots from the runway!
Reem Acra's gowns were all absolutely stunning and combined sheer laser-cut organza and tulle layers (Reem calls this the "new lace") and interesting textures. The collection also featured translucent pailettes, sequins, and ivory and white pearls."Transparency is the new white," said Reem. And she definitely follows through on that as all of her gowns had a light and airy feel to them. To ground these ethereal dresses, she accessorized with dramatic jewelry and floral touches.
