Expert Advice: Designer Ariel Ovadia on Menswear

Posted by

Twins Ariel and Shimon Ovadia of Ovadia & Sons know what they’re doing when it comes to menswear. The line is a favorite among our fashion editors (including myself!). These New York natives launched their first collection for Spring/Summer 2011, and it was met with rave reviews. Each of their beautifully made pieces reflect their obsession with gorgeous fabrics, meticulous craftsmanship, and timeless good style. Here, Ariel's words of wisdom when it comes to dressing and accessorizing the men in your wedding party.

Keep it simple: Think sharp and clean-cut. For a black-tie affair, white shirts and black suits. For an outdoor or less formal wedding, pair navy suits with light-blue shirts for a fresh look. Try to avoid rentals and anything shiny.

A great way to make sure your groomsmen look put together is to gift them custom bow ties or ties. In a solid color or subtle pattern like a houndstooth or glen plaid, they'll look quite dapper.

Remember that everyone should be able to pick out the groom from the crowd --  that means a different suit and bow tie.
