Beauty: Grooming Lounges for the Groom

Posted by

We may be the fairer sex, but that's no reason to discourage our guys from finding and primping their manly physique, especially on their wedding day. A couple of great men's grooming lounges have popped up in New York City, and I think they're a wonderful option for grooms getting ready on their big day. From haircuts to hot-towel straight-blade shaves to manly manicures and pedicures, these dens are all that and a stiff drink.

For the guy who uses only a bar of soap. . .

Moustache: Greenwich Tonsorial

This retro-fab barber shop offers up traditional services like haircuts and hot-towel shaves in reclaimed vintage barber chairs. Add in a shoe shine and a manicure, courtesy of their The Ultimate package, and a complimentary glass of Scotch to calm any nerves, and your groom is good to go.

For the guy who finally wears SPF (and even exfoliates on occasion)...

Hommage Atelier By Julien Farel

Super sleek and modern, the space is equipped with iPads and luxe ergonomic leather chairs to set grooms at ease as soon as they arrive. Their precision cuts come with scalp massages, and their straight blade shaves (note: the barbers are great at shaving even sensitive-skinned grooms!) end with neck, shoulder, and head acupressure massages. Talk about pampering! Additional services include beard maintenance, waxing, facials, and hand and foot grooming. All are served with a generous glass of single-malt Scotch.

  • Love it - the complimentary glass of scotch is a fab added bonus! Definitely, the groom deserves plenty of special treatment too!!

  • I agree with Tiffani - it's about time the grooms received some pampering. Last moments of bachelorhood should definitely be spent in luxurious surrounds with friendly company. (Atelier Staff & Wedding Party!)

  • Right there with you all! We at The Groom's List (http://thegroomslist.com) feel the groom needs some love too, so that's why we created this new step-by-step resource for the modern groom.

  • This is so nice. Everyone does think about the bride and the groom often is forgotten about. Grooms deserve this kind of treatment too!
