There was a great article on Eater.com the other day featuring the 10 best boozy desserts in New York City. And what better way to choose a restaurant than for its dessert menu!
Our dinner at The John Dory wasn't bad, but I really couldn't wait for the dessert. A smooth and silky pot of chocolate arrived at our table with a beautiful dollop of whisky-flavored cream on top. It was sprinkled with some orange zest -- we thought it overwhelmed the chocolate and whisky flavors just a touch -- but for the most part it was simple, straightforward, and absolutely delicious.
The article's other top desserts included Grand Marnier souffle, a chocolate tart with red wine sauce, and warm doughnuts stuffed with different alcohol-infused fillings. Wouldn't these be great to serve at a wedding? I do love a champagne toast, but a caramel sauce and bourbon milkshake toast would really take it to another level!
What fun dessert and alcohol combinations do you want to serve at your wedding?

Seems like Espresso Martinis are all the rage these days at wedding receptions, especially when there's a barista on site in addition to a regular bartender. http://www.espressodave.com/EspressoDaveBlog/?p=475
