I'd love to introduce you to another one of our stationery friends: MaeMae Paperie! Megan Gonzalez, owner and designer at MaeMae Paperie, creates fantastic invitations, announcements, and social stationery. She also offers three different printing methods -- letterpress, flat, and print-at-home -- to fit every budget. Look out for her in 2011! She just launched her first-ever collection of readymade wedding suites that will sell through her online shop. Here, Megan tells all:

What are your specialties? I love unique presentations and twists on the traditional. I give very special attention to type design -- every letter counts, and the more colors, the merrier!

What's the biggest project you’ve had? For rush-order invitations, I drove five hours to pick up boxes and twine from a vendor and invitations from my printer before heading back to my studio to assemble them all. I stamped 450 tags by hand and tied these tags onto bundles of super, super sweet illustrated Polaroids and around the invitations and replies. Then, I put each suite in a box and sealed it with an address label. And 600 postage stamps, 20 international postage certificates, and five trips in and out of the post office later, those babies got out into the universe!

What inspires you? Food, textile design, old maps, scripture, snorkeling, feeling strong after working out, movies, faithful and supportive loved ones, sunshine, the desert.

  • Megan is a ninja. Her "biggest project" was executed on behalf of me and my now husband, and we could not have been happier with the results. Our friends are still raving about the boxed invites she assembled... I SO highly-recommend MaeMae.
