As if dancing, drinking, getting manicures, photo-boothing, and confetti-tossing wasn't enough, guests at our Bridal Market Party got a special behind-the-scenes look at our offices. Our editors took groups through our decked-out halls to see the weddings department, the famous prop house, our test kitchens (where they got to see wedding cakes being made), and even some inspiration boards!
Wendy Kromer of Wendy Kromer Specialty Confections has been designing and baking cakes for us since we launched Martha Stewart Weddings. She is an incredible cake artist, and although she is based in Ohio, she makes cakes for events all over the country. We were lucky enough to coordinate her trip for our next cake shoot with the party so Wendy could show guests passing through the kitchens how she pipes (and to show off the many past "dummy" cakes she has created over the years!).
Amy DeGiulio of Sugar Flower Cake Shop was also in the kitchen demonstrating her incredible sugar flowers. She created the unbelievably realistic flowers for the "Dutch Golden Age" cake in the Fall issue of Weddings.
