Our special metallic series is coming to an end today. But fret not, my pets, we're going out with a bang!
As if you didn't get enough gold, silver, and copper ideas from our Fall color-palette story, Tuesday's post, and yesterday's post, we've got a feast of ideas for you today.
I gave Leila Khalil of Be Inspired PR our metallic challenge, and she jumped right in! Leila's boutique public-relations agency focuses on the wedding industry. As a die-hard fan of our magazine and a recent bride herself, she got right to work brainstorming ideas that tied in the colors of our metallic story and showcased the amazing talents of the vendors with which she works. And though this shoot was dreamed up as a cocktail-style party to celebrate a couple's engagement (complete with sparkling wine, greyhound-themed cocktails, and an array of desserts), this idea could also be used for a rehearsal dinner or even a bridal shower!
3 The group wanted a luxurious vibe but, because of the tight color palette, they were able to keep it clean and not overly fussy. Sophisticated white furniture and linens popped thanks to gold accents and fun designs.
8 The stationery was all hand-painted with gold, copper, and silver colors. Images of greyhounds decorated the bar menu.
13 Blanc de Chine vases along with gorgeous gold-trimmed fine china, silver utensils, and a chain-link table runner helped create a beautiful tablescape.
26 Items in the stunning dessert spread, complete with cupcakes, macarons, homemade marshmallows, and cookies, were adorned with metallic white chocolate or dusted in edible gold.
28 Arrangements of cream-colored flowers (hydrangea, ranunculus, pieris) dotted with gray dusty miller foliage, silver brunia, and muted peach garden roses were used.
34 In place of a real cake, boxes filled with homemade salted caramel and decked in dupion silk and metallic ribbon were stacked on a custom two-tiered stand.
So who actually worked on this shoot? Aside from Leila, who produced it all, and Troy and Aimee, her friends (and wedding photographers) turned models, here's the scoop on the key players:
Canvas & Canopy is a boutique event-styling company specializing in "the art of celebration." Designer Cortnie Purdy coordinates, styles, and designs an array of events, seeing the process through from inspiration to creation.
With a flair for fashion, interior design, and architecture, Carissa Jones from JL DESIGNS has her finger on the pulse of what's current and incorporates these trends into her modern, lush floral designs.
Jose Villa is a fine-art wedding photographer whose work has been published in magazines around the world. His ultimate goal is to craft vibrant, energetic images that are as unique as the people in the photographs.
Momental Designs is known for their hand-painted invitations and coordinating accessories for weddings and other occasions -- all featuring the artwork of Kristy Rice. At Momental, your story is art, painted beautifully.
Nestled in the heart of Manhattan Beach, California, Cupcakes Couture fuses high-end design with delicious confections. The end result? Beautifully crafted desserts perfect for any celebratory event.
OC Prop Girl offers an eclectic mix of props to help inspire and create the perfect ambience for a photo shoot or special event.
Small Masterpiece tabletop decor redefines traditional table settings. As the only company in Los Angeles to offer antique tableware, Small Masterpiece views every table as a blank canvas full of endless possibilities.
