Inspiration: Black and Gold

Posted by

Today’s palette is inspired by my alma mater.  When I was growing up, my school colors were black and gold. Although the palette was applied to T-shirts and hoodies then, I chose a more grown-up route for today. I love everything about this color combo; bold against soft shimmer. As a bride, you can add gold into your wardrobe a hundred different ways: pretty heels, sparkly fingernails, a stunning broach, or even an overall hint of it in your gown.

How are you bringing your color palette into your own wardrobe?

  • The gold leaf cake is fantastic!!

  • I like it too. The combination of black and gold is perfect. Although its not really being used as a color motif during weddings but with the pictures you posted it shows its really going to be a fabulous combination. The gold leaf cake looks like a real bar of gold. Thanks for your post.

  • I agree - the combination of gold and black will add 'class' to the event. Thanks for the ideas and insights!

  • Yay, this is my colour palette! Well close to it, we are having black, gold, and cream. Its been hard to find inspiration photos since it doesn't seem to be very common for weddings. Thanks so much for this post!
