Cypress Grove's New "Cheese" Cake

Posted by

The owner and founder of Cypress Grove, Mary Keehn, came to our offices last week to speak to us about (and feed us!) her cheeses. I was so impressed with all of them but was especially awed by their extremely popular Humbolt Fog. Coincidentally, I had served it as part of a cheese course at my wedding.

She also told us they are now constructing "cheese" cakes for weddings. That is, a tiered cake made out of a variety of their award-winning goat cheeses. What a great alternative to a traditional wedding cake!

To complete the spread, surround the "cheese" cake with pretty bowls filled with dried fruits, nuts, chocolate, honey, or anything you'd like to pair with the cheese. Or, decorate it with beautiful fresh flowers that match your color palette.

While a cheese course is a classic way to end a special meal, you don't have to choose between sweet and savory. Have both a "cheese" cake and a classic wedding cake. It's your day -- let them eat lots of cake!
