Something she can wear:
It's tough to buy earrings for people, but these are so perfect for everyday that I really can't imagine anyone not loving them! They come in gold or silver, so you can tailor the gift to her taste. 
Something she can use:
These porcelain vases are delicate and unique (each one is hand-crafted). Pick your favorite, and present it with a candle -- they double as votive holders -- or a bouquet of fresh blooms. And if blue isn't your thing, they also come in red or green!
Something that's just plain awesome (that she'd never buy for herself!):
Agate bookends make really special presents (that said, I may be a little biased -- I collect them!). They make such a striking, modern statement, and they look great on a bookshelf. I love the idea of giving them with an inscribed copy of your favorite book.
