I recently checked out the brand-new Chatwal, and decided that -- if you're planning on honeymooning in New York City -- this hotel has everything your little heart could desire: A clutch location near Times Square, a cool history (it used to be the Lamb's Club, a meet-up spot for the Who's Who of show biz like Charlie Chaplin and Fred Astaire), luxurious bedding, and a trendy lobby bar. But it was the high-tech, remote-controlled Toto toilet that sealed the deal for me. How's that for an amenity? HotelChatter has photos, but they don't really do it justice. This, however, is merely one of the incredible hotel extras out there. Get a load of these:
Jumby Bay Resort, a private island off Antigua in the Caribbean, boasts an alfresco shower and tub.
At the Rosewood Mayakoba in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, they have private plunge pools (all the rooms have them!).
This secluded sand-bar island -- perfect for picnicking-- is right off the Nukubati Island resort in Fiji.
