Something old, something new, something borrowed, something . . . green? Yep, at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, green is the new blue. Eco-minded brides can book The Ritz's Something Green wedding package that comes with a dinner menu that's natural and/or local (the cake is, indeed, organic); table linens are made from recycled materials; and living-herb favors are offered up for your guests to take home and plant. Even the open bar will be serving up organic booze. At $189 per person, it's not exactly cheap -- but you're saving the planet, right? And that's priceless. Did you or would you incorporate sustainable, local, or organic items into your wedding? I gave away Trees in a Box at mine, but you know what? Now I wish we'd done a little bit more.

Planting trees in memory of a celebration or loved one is a terrific old tradition. It's good to see it revived in the way that Trees In A Box is doing it. Seems like a perfect fit for a wedding.
