Special Opalescent Series: Sideshow Press

Posted by Shira Savada

Next up in this week's opalescent palette series is a paper post from Sideshow Press.

Sideshow Press has been creating handcrafted, letterpressed goods since 2004. They design and press each piece individually on a noisy 1926 press, in a shotgun storefront in historic downtown Charleston. Reactivating the vintage press is a labor-of-love collaboration for the three women -- Amy Pastre, Courtney Rowson, and Virginia Gregg -- who've built careers around type, paper, found art, and design. When not designing amazing invitations and wedding papery, the ladies design for all other aspects of life under the name Stitch Design Co.

In this memorable letterpress suite, soft pinks and lavenders mingle with calligraphy by Elizabeth Porcher Jones and luxe materials, like Arturo papers and dupioni silk backing. Complete with lined envelopes, table numbers, escort cards, invitation, RSVP card, and reception card, it perfectly fits the bill for our opalescent series!

What do you think of this suite?

  • Fabulous work by Sideshow Press!!

I especially love the envelope liner ... it reminds me of snake skin.

  • There was a video of a beautiful destination wedding that looked like it was in a castle on the website about a month ago. I lost my email and now can't find the video for my neice to view. It was a lovely couple, the man had a french accent, the wedding was outside, but the bride wore the most delicious gown and they filmed her in the stairwell spinning. Could you send me the link to the video??

    Thanks
